tranny is a hydro b16.

ummm.... could you be more specific please? are you replacing the shaft itself, and / or all or some of the components on the shaft? who will be doing the labor?

but i'd be willing to guess it would be cheaper just to replace the tranny... rebuilding the mainshaft is a big pain in the ***, plus parts are taxed..

LOTS of money if you're not doing it yourself. Your better off getting a new tranny.
