Default check engine light

I have a 02 civic si and installed the magnaflow cat back and a high flow cat that is currently availible on ebay. Drove the car around for about 20 minutes and the check engine light came on. I also noticed that it smelled pretty hot too. What is the deal?? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Last high-flow cat off of eBay for the EP I saw was really a test pipe. Basically the unit is not a catalytic converter at all. I assume if you scan the PCM for trouble codes, you will probably get a code #P0420 "catalyst efficiency below threshold". The "hot" smell is typical of new exhaust components, and it will go away in a couple of days.

Well I took it of and put the stock one back on and reset the ecu. And so far the light has not come back on. But is there a high flow cat for this car out there? Also I have the DC Sports header on the way This isn't going to give me the same problem is it?
Thanks

Your DC header will not cause problems. The only true high flow cat for the EP right now would be a fabricated unit from a reputable exhaust shop. There are no good off-the-shelf units right now.
