Default ef heat

i was wondering how hot your heat blows.

when i touch the heater core it doesn't seem hot. The side door that redirects the air to the heater core leaks and lets cold air in. So it blows cold from one side.

just curious how hot your heat actually blows.

if your heat isnt almost hot to the touch on MAX, then you should adjust/fix the air mix flap cable. its NOT the same as the coolant mix valve, theres another cable that is simultaneously adjusted when the **** is turned. crawl underneath the dash from the passenger footwell and look straight up from the center console, you should see the cable going to a white lever. you should be able to reach the adjustment **** and see if its working within the full range. this is the most common heater related problem.

Is that why everyone says their heater never works on the first setting? Because they came out of adjustment? I will have to try that some time.

Mine throws out flames. It hurts to hold your hand on the vent for more than 15 seconds.

just to resolve any confusion, the adjustment **** that controls hot air mix is the same as the "temp" ****, not the blower speed (1-2-3-4).

If your heat isnt as hot as it "should" be it may be time to flush the cooling system. Ive had a few cars that had cooler air when the heat was cranked. I flushed the cooling system and now you can cook eggs on the dash.
