Default The Pr3 Crossover point is??

What is the stock Pr3 Vtec crossover.
I just got my pr3 in the mail today and it is hitting Vtec at 4800..
I thought it was suposed to be closer to 5500 or 5700..

I believe the PR3 and PWO are around 4,600 or so. Not until the next Gen. stuff did it switch to 5,700.

Ideally is probably around 5,300 or so.

Mine kicks in at about 4800 and hit the rev limiter at 8000

you may have an automatic ECU.

Well, the one sitting under my desk here at work is going to have a 5,300 x-over, and 9,300 redline, and no speed limiter!!

Katmann to the rescue!! (He'll be re-programming it soon).

Is the a way to tell if you have an auto or manual from looking at the internals. Two nights ago I really watched and the vtec does come on at 4800 rpm and since I have no tach other then the stock Si gauge cluster I can't really tell when the rev limiter comes on but it goes to 8000rpm and then a sec later it hits. I do believe that is the manual because the other one I have is and auto and it kicks on at around 4500 and the rev limiter is around 7800.

Just pop off the cover of your ECU and look at the knock sensor board. It's the little board in the top left corner connect to the main board by a ribbon cable. There is either an MT or AT on the bottom right corner of the KS board. MT for manual, AT for auto.

i've also seen quite a few Auto PR3's with NO MT/AT inside... all the auto ECU's i've seen have 7500rpm rev limits, with 4400 or so X-overs.

if you find you are stuck with an Auto, i'd just simply get Katman to chip it to MT specs, there's quite a few good proggy's out there for PR3's... you pick the rev limit and vtec x-over

yeah mine says MT, didn't know that, thanks. How much does Katman do the whole program upgrade for, too like a spoon or mugen copy program? Do they have a site?

http://www.jdmhondaparts.com. Katman charges $155 for ECU reprogramming. I just got mine done this weekend by him. Gotta go pick it up and test it out.

Joe from HASport does a good job too. His site for reprogramming is locashracing.com if you didn't know. But I'm sure everyone allready knows that.
