Default 20 psi on zc?

ok i am lookin around at some different engines/setups for when i get ready to do a swap this spring. i think i may go with a zc b/c they are fairly cheap to start with and easy to swapin to a crx. i was wondering what u would have to do to safely boost to about 20 psi on a zc. i know i'd need better rods, lower compression pistons, block sleeved, bigger injectors, some kind of engine management, and a large fmic, but what brands and stuff do u recommend? what do i need to do to the head? what kind of manifold and turbo should i use? would i need to do anything to the tranny? what tranny should i use? i heard a dx tranny is good for turbo, but would it really be the best? anyways maybe some of u with more experience and knowledge can help me out

There is no way yu are going to be able to boost a zc to 20 PSI! **** man, Thats like a high for a GS-T! I recomend that you don't even go over 4 PSI on a ZC, those rods are SHIZZNITY!

the zc in stock form is good for about 200hp, im boosting 12psi with je pistions and crower rods on my zc, if you want 20psi you,ll need to re-sleeve, stock sleeves will hold till about 15psi ,after that your pushing it limits

im a d kinda guy but best way to go i think if you want more than 12psi on stock internals, they hold quite a bit, go to the fi section here on h-t theres a thread on a couple ls's pushin 300 whp on stock internals, i know it's not something you see everyday but hey youd be good for 200-225 off 7-10psi and youd be happy im sure, i don't know if you relize but 20psi is quite a bit, do you really need that much?

I have a mini me with ls rods.......shes boosting to 10psi with no problems besides the idiot that installed the head gasket before i bought the motor.

I'm not saying that the ZC is a bad engine to boost, it all depends on the engine you got...ect. My zc lasted for two pulls at 10psi before the crank thrust berring locked up the engine.

Theres a kid on here , bryson i believe his name is, who boosted his zc to around 20psi. it was a full engine buildup thought. I can't remember his site for the life of me but if you do any searches on homemade turbos you'll find it. The results weren't all that exciting for 20psi, and i believe he will recommend otherwise if you ask his opinion on the subject.

If you're still interested in the build up email me or send me a message. I have a set of crower rods and JE pistons for the zc. I'm looking to get rid of the pair fairly cheeply.

Good luck

Well you guys have to remember too, 20 psi on a little 14b is one thing, while 20 psi on a t66 is a completely different universe

Don't look to push a certain psi, look for a certain whp that you want to hit, then choose internals and turbine sizes accordingly.

a zc cant hold more than 7psi an the rods fail at 200hp. i have seen guys boosting 8lbs an up to 10 on stock zc blocks, but they didnt last long. the rods are as thin as your pinky. for 20psi, sleeving, pistons an rods is a DEFINTATE. but as someone said 20PSI is RIDICULOUSLY high. ive ridden in a zc with 7lbs of boost an that thing screamed. also a t25 which is what most people use on the ZC is only good for like 10lbs of turbo boost. if your goal is crazy boost, get an LS motor an build it.
