Would I lose my ATTS if I were to get a Quaife LSD unit for my 00' Lude SH???
Hey everyone, I am seriously considering a Quaife LSD for my car. I know they're around 900 but I think its worth it. I bought my SH not only for the reason of the ATTS but the whole package including sportier rims, painted underbody and spoiler and all that comes with the SH. Now I want more out of the car performance wise and I heard that the Quaife LSD works almost like the ATTS but is able to handle a lot more power than the ATTS Unit. Would my ATTS Unit have to be removed in order to install the Quaife LSD unit? Any response and info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.....
Quaife does not have an application for the Type SH... But if they did, yes, it would physically replace the ATTS clutch-based differential system.

3 ways of getting LSD into SH.
1. Trade in the SH for a base
2. swap engine/tranny for a base H22a, engine block of SH doesn't have the mounting holes for mid shaft like Base H22a.
3. Swap tranny only and use uneven length driving shafts setup a la Accord. Major torque steer problems.
To sum it up, you will need Base Prelude for modification other than simple bolt-ons.

from what I"ve heard, the performance gain of the Quaiffe unit, compared to ATTS, would not justify the expense.
ATTS is "active" whereas the Quaife unit is "passive". I think the ATTS is better in some situations. The costs/effort you will have to spend to get the ATTS out and the Quaife in probably wouldn't be worth it. You already have a limited slip, in a sense, you have an Active system like ATTS which is very very good. Why waste al that money for somethig that really won't be THAT much better.

The ATTS is good for some situations - unfortunately I don't find myself in those situations very often. For long sweeping corners (on-ramps), it's great. For just about everything else, a Quaife will be superior - fast slaloming, drag launches, poor weather capabilities, etc. This makes sense, considering it was designed with track use in mind. And I have no doubt that on the track, the SH would be much more balanced than a base model.
I've been tossing around the idea of somehow getting an LSD in place of the ATTS solely for the winter weather driving benefits. The ATTS gets mighty confused in the snow. But, it wouldn't be cheap to do it. So I'll probably just end up pulling the fuse for the winter (again).
