Default Someone explain: dual valve springs

I have a couple of b21a's. They have two springs per valve, one inside the other. Is there a benefit from having daul valve springs?

Thanks,
Mike

Yes, they go double because they are way stiffer, usefull for VTEC motors that rev high...you need stiffness for high RPM so the spring can rebound back to full length before the next downstroke.

These are definitely not vtec motors. They are from 91 preludes, b21a1a.

you are correct, the cams only have 16 lobes...
so basically still what Jeff said minus the VTEC part.
