Default Starter dead?

Went to my girls house, 3 hours later got in the rex and turned hit my push button starter but it cranked but didnt start, i tried like 3 times, then checked under the hood and had my girl try and start it, she cranked it and thats when i saw a spark come from behind and under the distributor, the spark came from somewhere underneath and not from my distributor, after that the car didnt sound the same when it tried to turn over but it would still try. What you guys think? my starters toast?

check if your battery is still good! try taking it off and go to your autosupply store and have it test...usually it's free! then if that is good try taking your starter off and have it test also.. good luck

battery works fine and so does the alternator, i get full power and all my lights work fine, but it just wont turn over or crank, it is an electrical problem due to the sparks i saw and guessing from where they came from im guessing its the starter, just needed some other opinions to be sure.

i had the same problem
massive sparks when i tried to turn it over..

i suggest:

pull out the starter (it only takes 5 min)
place it on the floor
step on the darn thing
(to prevent it from jolting)
and test it with
your battery

only way to be sure!!!!

thats what i did...

HTH..

put in a gear have someone roll teh car and jump start it, if it starts its your starter if not then uhh its most likely your distributor or wires or somethign that has to do with ignition. also check your baterry and all electrical connections again before doing anything
