Default TWS/ John Eagle event sum up...

Well if any of you Texans know, the John Eagle DE event was this weekend. Me, TypeRboy, and David attended. All I gotta say is daaaammn!!! that was fun!! This was my first time out on a road course in my R and let me just say this: F#ck drag racing!!! This is where the R totally belongs, auto-xing or road racing!! I can't beleive how well this car handled the more I pushed it. I was very surprised at well it handles through each turn. I had an MR2 spin out as I was riding his a$$ but I avoided it pretty well.

I reached speeds of 120-122ish, hard braking then flying through the next turn @90mph. I was totally shocked with my Type R. Never again will I drag race, street race, or look at my R the same.

Driving the R was soooo much fun and I'm still excited about it. I'll post pics later
tonight.

And one more thing, I was wingless the WHOLE time and the car still handled beautifully, I even passed some S2000's. I even impressed my instructor.
I recomend everyone to try it. I'm also gonna get in touch with "The Drivers Edge" group, who hold DE event 6 x's a year.

Road racing is definitly the most fun driving a car, I agree.

Type-Rs can dominate cars up to 1 second faster in drag racing on the track.

That thing just runs on rails. Glad you enjoyed it. When i went out there with my civic hatchback with the prelude motor in it, the thing that i saw was this..

These guys with thier cars were just scared of going off the track and just not pushing it. I was on the track with a few Acura's. I pushed that car so hard out there just trying to see the limit of it. With that prelude motor in there, it has some steering problems when i was going over 90 MPH. But on the straights and out of the turns...damn.

wingless: congrats on your newfound (and expensive ) hobby! You'll enjoy it much much more than drag racing (unless you build the ITR into a fast straight line car I guess.. I just don't see 14 second passes as being fun every few weekends..)

Default I had...

All I had was RSR springs...NOTHING else...stock mounts, no sway bars, nothing else...

well..I guess the autopower roll bar added some stiffness too.

One time I was driving 130 MPH and I remember, I wanted to slow down because it was nutz and I hit the brake and nothing happened. (stock brakes VX). The brake went all the way to the floor and didn't slow me down AT ALL. I could smell the burning.....of the pads...

I would recommend the H22A in a hatch, but if you go over about 90 MPH, you need to upgrade a few things are its dangerous.

Yes, I wanna upgrade my brakes already!!
My instructor had his NSX there and I rode with him twice, that was quite an experience too, he noted I took some turns just as fast as he did I think my insructor didn't want me to push my car at times, but I think it was cuz he wasn't comfortable with my car, I knew I could handle it.
I was a little hesitant to keep my revs at 8400 for 5-8secs at times in the straights, but the engine just handled it. I almost don't wanna mess with the engine and just upgrade other things, brakes, harness, suspension... I just can't express how much fun I had!!! The B18C5 rules!!!!

The three of us

Me
some sample pics, more will be added to my site by tomorrow, kinda too tired to TN all of them tonight.

would the wing still play a big role even if you have a lower center of gravity along with a better suspension setup?

What's up, wingless ? I had fun this weekend and was glad to meet you guys.

since I was at TWS, I'll try to answer this for you:

Wing = no difference around the track

Good driver = Huge difference around the track

Will: It sounds like you guys had a blast! I knew you would. I'm sorry I couldn't make out...

Were you running stock pads, fluid, and tires? How were they?
Okay, and who was the first to spin?

It was bada$$!!!! Had a lot of fun. Yeah, I was right behind Wingless when that MR2 spun out on the road. I guess he couldn't handle the pressure. 2 Rs breathing down your neck.

Hey Will, BONZAI!!!!
