Default How much boost can a d16 stock piston take?

I hear the rods goes first at around 250+ hp. How much can the piston take before it melts?

It is not necessarily the amount of horsepower that melts a piston, it is the tuning. If you are detonating, your piston will fry. If it is tuned right, your piston can withstand a decent amount of HP. Some boost anywhere from 6 to 12 psi on stock internals. IMO, I wouldnt go past 10 on stock internals.

12 can be done with the right tunning, most people i know run 9 psi daily driven and up it to 10 or 11 at the track

I have run 13lbs all summer long all on stock internals (No headgasket, no studs, nothing). All Hondata tuned by myself. The thing runs like a dream and screams. No dyno runs because there isn't one close to me and I have no time to drive it somewhere. A shop somewhat close is getting one as I type so I will hopefully dyno before it gets pulled apart for the motor install.

Yeah it the rods you have to worry about, around 240whp seems to be about as high as you can go before almost gauranteeing your engine won't last very long..
