OT: Finally, got pictures of my S2000, but not for the faint of heart!

799 miles on the odometer, engine fully broken in but just learning how to drive RWD sucks! I can't believe this happened. The rear end gave out and I was trying to recover the steering but skidded across the street because of sand and hit a curb

There guys, stop whining about the absense of pictures! I bought a set of 17" Volk TE-37's in gunmetal so the car should be cool by the end of this week

Please hold the flames!
EDIT - Pictures of the volks:

Yeah I was lucky, no body damage whatsoever except for a minor scratch on the front lip.
Estimate: $1595
But I get a set of Volks so it's all good, I'll snap pictures when the car is fixed!

I'm glad to hear you were not injured and you did not injure anyone else.
May I suggest learning the limits of your car at an autocross instead of on the street? (Not a flame)
A friend of mine picked up a S2000 when his turbo Civic was stolen and autocrossing the car really helped him to make the transition to RWD.

Yeah, thanks for the comment Reid, I really need to go to a driving school or take an autocross lesson with the S2000.
Well... I spun out and I could have avoided the curb if there wasn't any sand all over the road, the car just skidded endlessly. Needless to say I'm going to auto-x the S2000 first chance I get! Cones are a lot safer than curbs!

Sorry about your car man.
Like I said in your RWD impressions thread, you can save a RWD car, it usually takes alot more room than saving a FWD car though. You're not always heading the direction you want when you get the car under control either...

Oh wait, that wasn't your thread.
Oh well - the meaning is the same.
I did find that autocross helped me, but I felt that HPDE's really let me get a feel for the different dynamics of RWD.
...of course I did spin in T5 at Road Atlanta going about 60mph. Definitely some pucker factor there, but I went both feet-in VERY quickly and it was drama free. I just slid up the hill and only spun 90* the whole time. I'll take that 4 flatspots and run with 'em given that things could have gotten much hairier there.

I'll take some pictures of the volks tomorrow when I get them (put a deposit down, just gotta go pick em up).
They won't be mounted yet until the AP2 is fixed, looking at this Friday, or possibly Monday!
The AP2 has been in the shop for longer than I've owned it! I only had it for 4 days, it's been in the shop for 6 days!
