Default skunk2 stage 3's

yes i did a search and i couldnt find any information but what about using the stage 3's in a fully built 12.8:1 motor will they work 81.5mm bore also
with skunks valvetrain(springs and titanium retainers) and itr valves all around is it possible to daily drive these would that be enough of a built head or is there more into building a head? the bottome end is fully built with 12.8:1

I used Skunk II Stage 3 cams in our JDM Touring car. B20 Block bored to 84.5mm 13.0 to 1 compression Endyne pistons, Eagle rods, (Alaniz) B16A Head- with all the good valve train etc. No clearance problems.
255 whp.
Split the Block in two places though!

Good Luck

do you have the piston spec sheet by chance do you know what the valve reliefs were cut out to and what cam gear settings you used?

I ran mine +1 in -1ex with 85mm IB spec super dupers and .5 oversized valves and still had v to v clearance. I run Rocket motorspots/ef-1 valvetrain btw.

Well every motor is different. It will also depend on piston to deck height, gasket thickness. Valve angle.

Ya i would check the valve clearance just to be safe with cams like that. and i really think your head would have to be port and polish and your exhaust would have to be free flowing to actually get all the cams have to offer if you have that i think that motor would rip! good luck

I didnt get mine new.
heres a spec sheet off htec.
Skunk2 Stage 3
Int-270 dur. / 12.8mm lift
Exh-279 dur. / 11.8mm lift
There totally dailydrivable, the non vtec lobes are small and the cams idle perfect. If your in vtec alot it will wear on your valvetrain quicker. As long as your not wailing on it all the time you should be ok. The stage 2 cam is actually the cam of choice by most.
