Take pics of what you are talking about. Are you talking about the o-rings or just the rubber sleeve?

I installed GC's over KYB AGX's and the red metal sleeve collar will not fit over the rubber sleeve that comes with it... i just used a couple of the O-rings in place of the rubber sleeve. Works perfect.

Sorry to drag this from the dead but I am running into the same problem. I cant get the red metal threaded sleave to fit over the shock when the rubber bushing is placed between the two. I am thinking of just using the O-Rings, but dunno.

They are tokico illumnia shocks as well

i was always under the imression that you had to specify what shock you were going to use when ordering to coil overs to avoid things like this... of is this still a problem?

I did specify the correct shock when I orered them. As far as I know there are two different versions, one for Koing Yellows and one for everything else.

I run GC's on tokico blues. The eurathane sleeves provided w/ the kit will fit stock struts, but I had to just use the o rings provided in the kit w/ the tokico's. Works fine no problems or noises!

posting this just for someones future problems, i just put tokico hps (blues) on my 92 si today with ground control coils, the coils slipped right onto the kyb agx shocks i had before, and came right off, but the tokicos are slightly larger then the kybs, i grinded down the rubber insulator untill the sleeves fit overtop, they are nice and snugg so there will be no wobble between the sleeves and the shock, i dont know how well you guys suspension is with just o rings inbetween, my orings deffinatly wouldnt fit between the strut and sleeve. again i grinded the rubber down and kept fitting till they were snugg and slipped on, made for a solid suspension, tokico blues feel pretty damn smooth , i have the coils up pretty high right now, 26 inches to the bottom of the fender, but am going to adjust soon, hope this helps someone, its kind of a pain in the *** to grind the **** down but it works. later

The flat black rubber piece enclosed with the GC sleeves are there to fit between the damper and the metal sleeve of the GC's to prevent rattling of the two metal surfaces. Depending on the fit of your dampers and the sleeve you may not even need the black piece installed because it may just not fit. You're not hurting anything if you don't use the black piece.
