Default power gains/losses from rigged up exhaust

I swaped a gsr in to my del sol S. I put in the gsr manifold, downpipe and cat. The rest of the piping after the cat is the stock 1.5l non-vtec piping, including muffler. I would think that this setup would aid in lowend power, but how much am I losting up top? Below 4k the exhaust sounds deep and hollow, but not tinny. As it passes 4k it stills had the same deep tone, but muffled. I don't know if I"m just hearing the vtec come in or if the piping is just choking the engine up. It still pulls good up to 5k. I can't say about any higher than that cause I haven't gone up there yet. Waiting to get a few more mile on the rebuild before taking it any higher. Only about 700 miles on it.

it does hurt performance but there is no exact number, a full catback will be a noticable change.

At some point I will upgrade, I just don't have the dough right now after the rebuild. Will the del sol vtec piping help? b16a piping? I'd rather stay with the quiteness of stock. I don't want to draw attention from a loud shiny exhaust.

oh god, you'll see a noticable difference when you do upgrade. i kept the stock 1.5l piping on my cx and when i got the 2.25", it helped a lot at the track. good luck though.

i also need to upgrade my exhaust, is the apexi ws the best exhaust to use for hp gains and little fart-pipe noise? also, should a high flo cat be a better choice? i havent done anything to my motor yet, but im planning on doing a mini me on my D15B7 from a Z6 head...what would help the most?

There's a lot of debate on which is quietest, cleanest, most stock looking etc. I have an ES Oval muffler 2.5" in/out with custom piping and a GSR cat on my 92 VX with 99 B18C1 swap. It looks very stealth in the stock position with no tip and has a really deep sound, not loud buzzy and obnoxious. I have about $200 in the entire setup and you'll get no complaints from me.
