Default Clutch went out in 96 accord?

My friends clutch doesnt work. I just wanna pass this by you guys to see if anyone has had this problem and also to confirm if the clutch is bad or not.

The symptoms are : clutch pedal goes in but does not come back out.......when the clutch is in the car does not go into gear.

He has been driving via rev matching I just wanna see who else has had this problem, Im assuming his clutch went out. Can anyone please confirm this? Thx

When you say "the clutch goes in", are you talking about the clutch pedal? If you are, then it might be a leak in the clutch master cylinder or the fittings from the master cylinder to the tranny. If you want to check this out, then you can ask your friend to press on the clutch pedal to see if the clutch slave cylinder is pushing that lever out to activate the clutch.

if you replace clutch master cylinder, you should replace slave cylinder also.
