Default ps question

today i heard a fast loud ticking noise when i turned on the car today . thought it was probably a belt but i found out it was the ps unit . i notice that the ps pulley/wheel is cracked at 4 of its spokes . i was just wondering if i could just take off the belt or could i replace that pulley/wheel because i couldnt find anything about it in my manual ?! the only problem i would see is my steering would be very hard . i dont plan to spend alot of time on this because i need about a week or two before i plan to swap out for a new motor . thanks for any replies .

i took out my power steering long time ago and its still running fine. It should be no problem. You can just drop the belt and it won't run.
