I didn't really want to read another board for 2 pages but I think everyone will agree, there is no reason you need to cut springs. There is so many decent lowering springs out there for around $100 and you'll be doing it the right way.

K, here's your concrete proof. When you cut the springs you will be screwing up the molecular structure that the original engineers desinged them for. Hence, you will have screwed up the springs and they are not what was intended to be used on your car. It's unsafe and idiotic. Ask him how his leg would work if someone changed their molecular structure by say cutting out his knee caps.

 

Lowering springs are progressive. They take in account the amount they lower your car and make up for it with a stiffer spring rate as they compress. Cutting your springs will lower your car but still give you the same spring rate as you would have stock so your car will ride like a boat till you hit the bump stops. Not the right way to lower a car. Cutting a inch or less more than likely won't hurt anything but if your going to go through the trouble of removing the spring you might as well do the right thing.

Please do not be ghetto and cut your springs.
Save yourself some money and get a nice cheap setup.

I cut my stock springs about 2 years ago or so. Never really had a problem except resently i had to get a wheel alignment due to a bad toe nail. But if you get a camber kit youll have no problems. Any questions you got about cutting stock springs just PM me.

Edit: I just read some of the other thread that you linked. Its not true about the shitty ride. You still have stock ride but dropped. If you do cut 2 more springs get a alignment right after, it will save your tires.

not all of them. most springs are linear.

why dont you save some money and buy some ebay springs? its better than ******* up your
springs. my friend once did this to his camry. we had to torch and bend the springs so that
it'll seat properly on the strut mount.

btw, this is in the tech forum too.

Apparently its when your inner side of your tire wears out faster then all others, like this pic. I was told its called a bad toe nail, i could be misinformed on the name.

Ask him how his leg would work if someone changed their molecular structure by say cutting out his knee caps.</TD></TR></TABLE>.... thats so true.. cutting your springs is retarded.. and is totally unsafe.. my neighbor is a cop and when i was putting my suspenison in on my driveway he walked over and said that it was good that i bought all the proper parts because the cops are starting to give grpund clearance tickets and **** .. he said that alot of kids drop there cars the WRONG way (cutting spings) and he said thats if he pulls over a car to check ground clearance and it is below a certain inch they check make the people turn thewheel all th way to onesdie and they check their springs and if they dont look after market they get a summons... i have never gotten checked but this is what he was telling me that improper susension alterations are causing major problems.. just relaying info i was told by a COP

Not aligned or improper camber. Toe is a functional part/measurement of your suspension.

Here is some concrete proof:

Honda: Engineered design specifically made to handle the weight distribution, movement, and comfort for the specific model of car or chassis.

Friend: Non educated in the engineering field. He does understand the above concepts.

You do realize when you drop your car you're losing performance. Let me explain.

You drop your car. Engineering and design goes out the window. Your camber is designed to evenly align your tire which gives traction to the road. Once dropped, you don't have %100 of you tire on the ground. Therefore, no traction, no grip, less performance. Very dangerious...

So do us all a favor, teach someone, or punch them in the face with ignorance.

cheap springs = better than cut springs........but if u must.......die grinder....not matter if u cut or get springs u\your tires will wear w/o a camber kit
