rim & tire size ????
I think in order to keep your speedo in check you need to use, 215/40 for the 17's, it gives you enough rubber on the road, and is the correct plus size. check rubbage though. a friend of mine that drives a 93 had to go to a 205 cause the 215's rubbed on her 3" drop...
the different numbers stand for different things. take a 215/45/17 tire...
the 215 is the width of the tire...in milimeters i believe...so it would be a 21.5cm wide tire. the 45 is pretty much size of the sidewall, but i'm not sure how its measured, but the higher the number, the bigger the sidewall, and the 17...well, thats for the size rim your putting the tire on.
hope this helps.

the 45 is 45% of the width of the tire. so the sidewall for a 215/45/17 would be 45%of 215

205/40/R17
205 - width of the tire
40 - height of the sidewall
R - Radial tire
17 - size of rim tire will fit
maybe you people should look in on the civic forum every once in a while............
