driving w/ snapped alt. belt
it depends on the distance you are driving. you risk ruining your battery, so it may cost you more than a tow would.
if i was you i would just change it myself. its a very easy task, even if you aren't mechanically inclined. if you have any q's let us know.

do you have a pic of the alternator? im not sure what bolts i need to loosen to get the belt off and then also to tighten it afterwards.
i don't have any real pics to use, but you could go to http://www.slhondaparts.com/ to view the diagram.
basically you have to loosen the p/s pump assy, remove that belt. than loosen the alternator install the new belt, tighten, then re-install the p/s belt.

i was looking around on that site you gave me, but all i can find it an exploded view of an alternator.
what are the bolts called that i have to loosed.
btw, i dont have p/s, so that makes it a little easier
thanks for all the help.

One more thing, I would disconnect your negative battery terminal before you start unplugging things. If one of the wires hits ground it may arc and blow a fuse. I made it big enough so that you can see the page from the garage while you are working on your car. Have fun.

i have the adjusting bolt and the little bracket that it goes through, but the bracket isnt bolted down like it should be with #41/42.
the best i could do was pull up on the alternator and tighten the mounting bolt. it felt tight but when i revved to about 5k i could see the belt starting to get slack between the the alt pulley and the underdrive pulley.
everytime i would tighten this way and rev a little, the belt would get loose again. the bracket that the adjusting bolt goes through... what is it actually mounted to? does the belt get tigher by pushing the alternator away from the engine block or is the alternator pushing itself away from the pulley underneith it?
