Japanese NPT to American NPT?
I noticed that the threads are the same, but the taper seems to differ. Anyone have any info on this or know where I can find a 1/8 NPT Japanese to a 1/8 NPT American Adapter?
I don't think there is a Japanese npt but i think they use British thread kinda like a straight fitting. National pipe thread tapers so you can just tighten till it seals kinda like a lock.but i believe japan uses a British system or metric, i don't think they have there own system. oh one more thing like the opsu on a Honda block it has one more thread per inch than NPT. Anyones else have input?? oh a -3 screws right in the block though.
thanks i am trying to find out all the differences in the different thread standards.
i ask because i am making new oil lines for my 350Z twin turbo system and the threads on the block where the oil pressure sensor is LOOK just like NPT but if I try and thread a NPT in there it only threads like 3 turns.
I need to find out what all the damn differences are so I can figure out what im ordering.
