i have a 2000 gsr and i just took out the spoiler.
the thing is, i need a third brake light (to pass brake and tail light inspection also)
anyone ever mount an LS/RS one on there? or put something aftermarket?
or something like the 350z brake light and mount it on a teg??

 

I have no personal experience with installing a 3rd light, but I did read about people buying the jdm brake light and replacing theirs stock one. You should be able to find a light online somewhere like ebay, and wiring it would be relatively easy.

I think your best bet is to buy the LS/RS 3rd brake light assembly. I dont think it would need any customization, should be all direct replacement.

I want to do the same thing.

actually it's not. the ls/rs window is different..it has like a place for the screws or something...someone suggested double sided tape...but daayam, wouldn't that look ugly??

 

Someone makes an add-on 3rd brake light kit for just this type of application....check with your local speed shop, they should be able to hook you up with something to your liking.

 

actually the ls/rs/gs only had the 3rd brake light screws 99 and up....my project ls is a 98 and it doesnt have the screws on the window, but it is screwed in at the base..

 

Im very surprised its not a direct replacement. Has anyone on this forum setup something like this? Id like to see pics.

 

Dude why don’t you just get that after market ACURA badge that act’s as a 3rd brake light in the rear.

That doesn't sound right, I'm pretty sure if its NOT a LS-Special or a GSR.... than its going to have that 3rd brake light that is BOLTED to the rear HATCHBACK glass. We are talking about hatchbacks right?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure all except the GS-R and LS special all had the bolted TBL.

why not take the 3rd brake light off of your spoiler and tape it on the plastic piece towards the back window? it's been done before

hes right , the ls/rs or any integra without a wing from the factory has the 3rd brake light in the wing liek the GSR/gs(with wing)/SE

It doesn't look all that great, but it's been like that for almost 18 months now. I still want to make a custom housing for it because it reflects inside the rear glass and I can see it light up in my rear view at night.
