Whats so special about those japanese lug nuts? Do they act as a wheel lock or something?

I know that they're light and expensive tho.

Ive heard they strip very very easily...be careful!

Oh and theyre light, thats whats so special. May not make a big difference, but a quick physics lesson involving centripidal force and rotational mass will at least show you why people buy em

I have 'em too...
I like them because
1. They are lightweight..saved me about 1.5 pounds total in unsprung weight over regular lugs if I can remember clearly.
2. They come in silver now, not just chrome and black. There is NO other lug company producing silver coated lug nuts that I know of that are quality. I needed this color for my silver wheels.
3. They serve as a wheel lock - the design is that they are 7 hex, so you need a special socket to remove them (even though I'm sure a crook could easily obtain one of these keys...but then again, they can obtain a universal wheel lock remover, so what's the difference!)

I have them as well. They do act like some kind of security since they use a heptagon key to remove the lugs. However, the key tends to get rounded very easily even by wrenching it by hand. Thats probably the only flaw I've had with them.

Actually, I have them too, I also weighed them. Each Kyokugen weighs in at 25.7 grams while my OEM lugs weighs in at 35.9 grams. So do the math. 10.2 grams x 20 (5 lug) = ~ .5 lb weight savings total. The weight saving is ~ .4 lbs on a 4 lug vehicle.

The only thing is, I have those lugnuts too which means I can use my key on your wheels and vice versa. That's why I have three different locks on each wheel.

Guard: you can have 4 different locks, if it's a theif who's used to stealing wheels he'll get those wheels off anyways. Hell a gator grip (or whatever those stupid fuggin things are called) will defeat a good amount of wheel locks.
