Default Civic Coupe Swap

Hey there i live in New Zealand where the Civic Coupe is few and far between so im haveing a little trouble reseaching this on my own soil.
What im wanting to do is do a conversion.
I have a 96 EJ7 Civic Coupe. its got a D16b engine. (1600 SOHC Vtec E) Its also has a Auto transmission.
I would like to swap in a H22A or maybe a B18C Dependingon the Price. Also go to a MAnual transmission.
in NZ the B18Cs are alot harder to find and more expencive than the H22A. But how much more difficult is a H22A to install.
Is there any difference in engine bay sizes between the Civic Hatchs or 4Drs.

With the H22A what are the dissadvantages. Will the handleing of the car be affected. Will i have to upgrade my shocks and if so what kind of shocks will i need.
I currently have Adjustable springs with my Factory shocks.

I would love to hear from anyone who has a Civic Coupe with a Manual H22A in it. Or even a B18C.
Any infor greatly appreciated.
Thanks for all your help.

Welcome to H-T! Most of this information is covered weekly, so I advise you to use the search function. Many people (including me, but you caught me in a good mood) will flame/bitch at you for not searching.

You are going to have a lot of work just to do the Auto=>Manual. I advise selling your current EJ and buying a manual EJ.

H22a has more torque and is cheaper. You'll need to get a good suspension setup. The majority of the people would probably say Tein are the nicest, although there are plenty of other setups out there that would be just as good, IMHO.

The H22a is better for nitro whereas the b18c is better NA or turbo.

Thanks for the help i am seaching as well but got told to ask on here so i asked.

About the manual/auto thing.
My car is right hand drive. It is extremly rare and was built for the japanese market. I currently own the only one of its kind in NZ and there were never ever made with a Manual trans.

good luck on your journey. if you like to have your hands busy, keep your current car and go with the swaps. but it would be easier just to get a manual civic coupe. just my opinion.
