Sounds high to me, considering I just paid $3900. for a '92 GSR with 79K
in VG+ condition, garage kept, 1 owner.
Offer him 3000. at the most.

i had a 95 gsr with 120k with a ST, and sold it for 5Gs here in WA st. i have another 95 with 110k and a RBT, and i have offers of 5500, so i guess its all about where you live and what other ppl are selling

I have no idea where people find these deals. A good rule of thumb for salvage titles is whatever private party value is subtract 40%. They can be very difficult to get registered in some states.

Offer him like $2600....and see if he will let a mechanic check it out for a second, I would never let anyone who was intrested in my car take it to a mechanic personally, I found some peoples mechanics create problems. Maybe if he isnt the brightest bulb in the box he will let you (Id take it to a dealer).
There are all kinda of little things you can check your self too...
Turn the key to the 'on' position to see if all the consol lights turn on (some people take bulbs out to hide warning lights), look at the body from different angles to see where it was repainted (it will look ripply), run a CARFAX report!!...
Personally I wouldnt touch it either way lol, Ive had bad luck with every sporty car ive bought with higher miles (usually someone drove the crap outta it). And a salvage title reinforces this into my head. But if you can get it for like $2600 and it checks out
turbo project bitch!
