Made a little discovery, now i'm worried..
Well let me reiterate, I just bought a '99 GS-R on Thurs., today I decided to go ahead and change it's oil and check it out top to bottom. Well when I got around to changing the oil, first of all the oil was more like water! I mean it was soooo incredibly thin, really was water like and relativley clean like it has less than 10o0 miles of use, but that's not what got me worried, after I drained the oil and as I was pouring the used oil into the empty bottles, I realized there was some kind of matierial build up where the oil had collected as I poured it. After emptying the oil drain pan, I felt the bottom and there I saw it, little tiny peice of metal in the oil!!! Uh oh! This has me worried that a ring could be self destructing or even worse, a peice of piston or something else. Now the bits were extremely small, looked like ity bity bits about half the size of grain of rice if not smaller and there weren't too many, but there were there none the less. I know this is a common occurance with new cars and their first oil change when little bits of shavings from when the block was cast will come loose and be drained with the oil, but this motor has 20k miles on it, or at least the odo. says so. I removed the valve cover and found alot of this dried grey sealant all over the place around the spark plug holes, but the bolts showed no sign of being "bitten" by tools by somebody removing the head and it looked remarkably clean. So what really has me worried is the metal shaving in the oil. I'm thinking, because the motor is unusualy clean for a 2 year old motor and the metal in the oil, it's a new block, or something inside is falling apart or sustained damage. I know it's now the most detailed account, but what do you guys think? And idea's?
something sounds fishy man....
first time i changed my oil... i had those metal shavings 2, but never afterwards....
i hope u didnt get ripped off

Well being a 99 w/ 20k miles, the car is still under Honda warranty, and I have a friend at Esserman Acura, so I'm gonna take it to him and ask him to perform a compression test and a CLT. Hopefully both will return with good results and indeed i'm looking at a new motor, guess he blew the original. Total speculation though since I really have no idea.
You sure they are pieces of metal and not pieces of carbon buildup? Sounds pretty normal, I would not worry just yet.
