Default oil leak

i recently changed the oil pan gasket because it leaked before. Now its still leaking but even worse. Could it be because i over tightened the bolt or because i didn't put sealent on the gasket. please help. its a brand new oem gasket

Is your oil pan dented or mishapen? My oil pan was leaking, too. At first I changed the gasket, but then realized the pan itself was dented and maybe a little bit warped, so I just installed the new gasket, lined it with sealant, and it's been fine ever since.

Did you follow the service manual procedure for installing the oil pan or did you just tighten down the bolts? Because there is a tightening sequence and torque specification that needs to be followed.

You needed to put sealant on the gasket.
