so im in the middle of gettin my tilton clutch in the race car...i notice that a stock throwout bearing is too big for the tilton clutch.

does anyone know of a differant bearing that could be used in this app???

just trim the plastic a little 2.2lcivic

 

so that the part of the throwout that dont spin fits "inside" the clutch fingerS?

There is a plastic lip that sticks out. Unless you trim it it will get stuck in the middle of all the fingers. Atleast that is what I was told when I got my Tilton.

trim the plastic back untill it clears.

 

thats what i did with mine worked so far.

 

Nobody told me about trimming the T-O bearing when I first installed the Tilton. I pulled the clutch the day after I installed it due to noise (that I now know is normal) and found the plastic getting gouged by the fingers. I was told to cut it, but I just used an LS T-O bearing instead (it does not have the plastic hub sticking out). It worked. Cutting the plastic hub would also work.
