Default cross country in a teg?

how reliable would it be for a LS with about 134k miles on it, to drive from ca to fl? what should i look for in terms of keeping the engine safe while driving with that kind of a distance?

LS motors are pretty strong and im sure it can handle it easily. Just make sure you change your oil before you go because you are traveling around 2500-3000 miles if im correct. Oh yeah make sure your spare tire has right amount of pressure incase you get a flat.

If you can, bring some extra fluids just in case. I'd also try to bring some socket wrenches, just in case. Good luck!

I just went from Kansas to LA in my '93 (loaded with most of the **** I own ~300 lbs.) with 125K miles. Absolutely no problems whatsoever. Just change the oil, load up the trunk with tools, a quart of oil, some brake fluid, a properly inflated spare w/jack and some Techron concentrate for every tank of fuel.

Change your oil the day before you leave. Check for proper tire pressure. I recommend a 30 min massage before you leave to it will help with the back pain!

My teg went on a road trip two years ago when i first bought the car.
Took a drive from NY to Sarasota florida with numerous stops through virginia, georgia, NC, SC and FL.

This is basically what i did:
changed Motor Oil / filter .
changed Airfilter
changed Spark Plugs
changed Clutch Fluid
changed Brake Fluid (bled the brakes)
Checked Brake pads (still good)
Added Wiper fluid
checked master cylinder and steering fluid levels
flushed coolant (first flush after i purchased the car)
checked tire pressure
checked tires for damage or rips
checked spare tire and tools.

Hope this helps. Take advantage of the cruise control if you have it. good luck

I'll be driving all over the country in mine. I'll be going to Atlanta, Oscoda MI, Ft. Worth TX, Virginia, and this is all from St. Louis. Plus, when I get there I'll be racing the car and then turning around and driving home.
