Bar Approval on a K20a2 or K20a ( searched... )
Wats up all, ive been doing a lot of research on the K20a2 swap into my pos 7thgen civic and was looking into the k20a2(type-s) cuz its a usdm motor and thought that it would get better luck getting it BAR approved. Would this swap be legal in the frist place going from a 1.7 sohc to a 2.0 dohc??? Im a tad bit confused over this whole motor swapping business. Then today, i was talking toa local shop taht swapped the jdm k20a (type-r) into 2 rsx's and said that both of their cars passed smog. So now another question is would the jdm k20a get BAR approved with all the right sensors intact in my civic? And if this can be done, what else is needed to get that stupid sticker of apporval. also does anyone think this swap is worth it??? all comments and suggestions are welcomed. just thought id turn to H-T for some adivse. thanks guys......

Its pretty straight foward.
Get a same year or newer engine
Keep all the USDM smog equipment on the K20 and have fun

as long as the engine is newer than the car, and you have "usdm smog equipment" you're good to go?
