H22A1: The most bad *** FWD motor Honda has made.
2.2L VTEC rated at "190hp" but generally had a little higher. This is what you look for when you want to do a phat ride, or a fast *** race car.
H23A: most common found in 4th gen preludes. 2.3L, 160hp that has good torque and a good everyday driver. It CAN be modded to be a beast, but for the most part isn't going to be able to beat an equally modded H22.

H22 is the 2.2l VTEC motor, H23 is the 2.3l non VTEC motor. you may as well just buy the whole clip. you can get an H22 w/tranny/ECU from many different places.

jdm1 wants $2300 for engine and tranny. Is there a place I can get one for less? will I need anything else? And is there a supercharger that will work for my car?
Jackson Racing makes a supercharger for the H22, but I don't know if there would be any fitment problems putting it in a 4th gen prelude. But if you REALLY want power, don't even bother with a supercharger, get a turbo.
