Ok...I got my distributor finally but there is another problem!!
I posted earlier about the distributor going out in my car. Well I got one and put it on today and it started right up. The problem is after I let it run for a few and pushed the gas a little it went dead and now won't start and acts like it did before I even put a distributor on it. I don't know what to do. Please help I haven't drove in like 2 weeks.
did you get the whole distributor or just cap and rotor? was the coil replaced?
Take out your sparkplug wires one at a time and put a screwdriver into the hole...hold it over something that is metal and a ground. If you see an arc you are getting spark...
if your getting spark, then check fuel. sounds like that may be the problem at hand.

I got the whole thing and didn't replace anything just put the whole thing on. I don't understand how it cranked just fine and ran for a little bit then died. I was thinking where I tried to start it before it could have flooded it so tomorrow in the daylight I'm gonna check the spark plugs. On the original distributor I had got a new cap and rotor. You think maybe replacing the one on the original with the one I just got would help or not? (btw the one I just got came from a junk yard so it's not brand new) Thanks though for the help so far guys!!
