why are u asking the owner for money? Your insurance should handle that. Unless I missed something here, you should have reported this to your insurance, they give you the value of the car, and if the shop is gonna pay for it, it will be the insurance company's job to get their money back from the shop. The shop shouldnt pay you directly for the loss of the car. Atleast thats the way it worked for me.
now i need my receipts which i don't 100% have. i mean i paid cash and most of the receipts were written and i wanted the salesman to get some extra on the side so that if it had to do with installing, then they wouldn't mess with anything. i'm gonna get the value plus receipts and some more for my time that i put into that car. i'll start a new post later on. gotta go talk to them body shop folks
Insurance doesn't pay the value of the car, it pays the value of a replacement. The more evidence you provide about what it would cost to replace, the better off you will be.
Do not settle for blue book value because you are getting jipped. As most of know, Type R are selling for much more above blue book. If I were you, find 3 Type R the same years as your around your area and tell him to give you the mean of the 3 prices. I have seen type r go for $22-$25k USED!! Kind of funny when you think about it because my friend got one for $22.5k NEW during the end of 01 before the rsx hit the dealer floors.
