ok i spun a rod bearing in my old motor and im just swaping in a short block, what gaskets will i need and fluids, also for the head gasket is there a special type i should get??? anything i will need or stuff to check for because of what happened, any help is appreciated
You should only need a head gasket and valve cover gasket, unless you took off the oil pan too. If you did..then you will need an oil pan gasket too.
It probably would be a good idea to change the water pump, timing belt, and head bolts too.
Based on the spun bearing...you might want to check the oil pump too.
That's all I know of.

No, you don't. It is really only a good idea if you plan on turboing, high horsepower cars.
If you are going N/A...you should be fine using your current bolts.
