GSR Exhaust setup.. help
Ok , after i explain my setup i will ask the question.
JDM ITR header
2.5" carsound cat
Hytech exhaust
Sreing that i am going with the ITR header should i get a carsound cat for a typ-r and also get the hytech exhaust for a type-r ? I would think this would be a yes because I have a gsr and the lengths of the ITR exhaust system and the GSR exhaust system are diff and i dont wanna have to do any cutting and welding.
Anymore info would be great. Thanx

I dont think you should get the itr exhaust because the 97-01itr exhaust is only interchangable with the 00-01 gsr exhaust. Not because of diameter but because of length. I am pretty sure that carsound has a 2.5inch cat designed for the gsr.
I am positive of this, if u do not want ANY cutting or welding do not get the hytech exhaust for a type-r

Ok i deff wont go with the type-r exhaust .. ill just get the hytech made for the gsr. But if i was to go with the itr header and a cat for the gsr i am gonna have to end up cutting somthing right?
If you use the JDM-style header, it's already going to push the cat back a few inches over the stock GS-R manifold. Just look at where the collector ends on the two relative to the header bracket.
If you use a GS-R length B-pipe with a GS-R length cat, it'll end up being too long and it will have to be shortened either at the B-pipe or cat, but shortening the B-pipe is obviously easier.
Use an ITR-length B-pipe.
