Default Attempted to Steal my R

Yah someone decided to help me join the ranks of hundreds who have had their R stolen or attempted to be stolen.

I washed my car today and noticed a dime sized jimmy mark/dent above my driver side door glass where the roof meets the door. They probably were trying to fish my door open, the alarm probably when off when they pressed too hard. So much for having a 100% mint CW type-R. I wish I could have seen the person attempting this so I could crowbar their face.

I dont know where it happened, I live in a gated community, car is garaged most of the year, has a wheel boot, clutch lock, club and alarm. And I have a second car that I drive daily. Maybe it was that one time I went to TGIF fridays, who knows. My time with the R is set like a timer, I dont when or where, but I know one day I'll never see it again.

Right now I feel like I should have NOT bought the Mazdaspeed as a second car and sold the R and parts and used that money I spent towards an M3. Maybe I will next year.

Now that you mention that mark above the door I am missing paint in that area as well. I thought I caught a rock chip at a weird angle or something. Hmmmmmm......

That sucks Aamir, your R was definitely in pristine condition. Do you put the club/autolock/wheelboot on wherever you go? If so, that's one stupid friggin' thief, thinking they could get it with all that on there...

DAMN! I didn't want to hear this near home. But it happens all the time. All it takes is a good 15 minutes somewhere and it's gone. It's sad to se you change your feelings on the R. I remember the day I met yuo and trying to convince yuo on the R. Since you have a daily driver now, just have to be like me. R is track only or driven where you won't have to have it parked anywhere....

The thieves just stick their arm down and unlock the door...I did that when my mom's car keys got locked in side the van.

Man...I think all car designers should make like a double door lock or something...like one on top and one on the bottom....

Just to relay my experiences, my '98 M3 gets FAR FAR less attention from theives than my '98 Integra GS did(I'm not kidding...).

My Integra was broken into 4 different times, they were mainly after the stereo and any other easily removable items(looking for speaker boxes, amps, cash etc.). My M3 sat in the same parking deck for months on end with no drama whatsoever. People really don't even give it a second look, to most(even lots of car enthusiasts), it might as well be a 318 or 325.

This has its advantages at times.
