70mm bbk throttle body
has anyone used this throttle body on there ITR or CTR and if so what was your feeling about it(top end, bottom end , ect...) I did a search and only found one thread on it and the guy had a b16a and no body really said much except its too big. So if you could help me out and decide to keep this throttle body or sell it it is bran new so i don't know if i should keep it. PS usually i research **** before i buy but this one i got real cheap and had to buy it fast thanks alot
yes im trying to figure this out too, did a search even called shops, id like more educated opinions on this... 70mm straight-thru TB mounted on an intake mani with 65mm opening
I bore throttle bodies as a side job.
I bored a type R throttle body(62mm stock) to 66mm for a friend of mine. I also ported his intake manifold to a bit larger than 66 mm. He ran a consistent
12.4 on his B18C5 powered CRX. He then decided to get an Ericks racing TB, not sure exaclty how much bigger it was but certainly 70mm at least.
he ran the exact same 12.4 with the new TB. Unfortunately, he didn't get to dyno the TB and we never got HP numbers to compare.
It seems there is a limit of size to performance when it comes to TBs.

I have a 70mm bbk tb. I did not get a chance to get a back to back comparison on the dyno vs. the stock itr tb, but one thing that is truly noticeable is the instant throttle response.
I have not gotten any problems with the tb, no sticking plate, idle problems. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones because I've heard some bad stories.
When I went to tune (www.dynospotracing.com) I asked if it would be better to use a stock spoon itr tb. He said I was fine with the 70mm and it would actually compliment additional parts in the long run (cams, header, etc.).
