Default The hose connecting the radiator cap to the coolant overflow tank is torn

Hey guys, just noticed this as I had been finding antifreeze on the outside of my stock radiator and had figured the ****** was blown. Well, checking my oil yesterday I brushed the hose that connects the rad cap to the overflow tank and it moved. Low and behold, it's ripped where it connects to the rad cap. Now, I'm hoping this is the cause of my unsolvable idle issues. It idles at 2,200RPM's when cold, and then about 2,700 RPM's when it warms up. Idle screw has been played with and is currently at the lowest idle setting.

I'm kind of excited that it might finally be solved, but I won't be able to relax until I patch it and the idle goes back to normal. She used to idle at 2000RPMS when cold and then drop down to 1000, sometimes around 1200RPMs but it was fairly steady.

Anyway, anyone else ever experience this?

It won't affect the idle at all.

High idle....that might be caused by a bad 02....am I mistaken?

UH, I don't think that hose would effect your idling as the hose draws coolant back and forth with very little vacuum.

wouldnt air bubbles get in ur coolant causing a funky idle?

No....I doubt the water pump takes enough power to dramatically change the idle like that

That was what I was thinking, air bubbles causing a funky idle. The hose is torn completely off, it's just hanging in place at the moment. Probably wishful thinking

im talking about bubbles getting into the eacv. but that would probably cause a jumping idle not a 2700idle
