new amp installed, now i smell smoke coming out of the trunk.
i just installed rf 500db rated at 650rms x2ohm...connet to rf he subwoofer, 10 inchese.i dun know how much rms it rated at....got it free from a friend couple years ago..
anyways, here is the problem. now, everytime i turn the vol gain control to high ; the subwoofer does not hit hard like i read many previous reviews on honda-tech.
when i touch the amp, the amp is cool after running for an hour or so, but when i touch the subwoofer; it is warm.....
do you guys know where smoke coming from? my amp or my sub?..........im not sure from which one.....so dat why im asking you guys.
thanks in advance.

LMFAO... kudos on that one my man.. no but if ur speakers warm, its cuz you've been pumping it too hard and the friction on the coil is heating up, and u can blow ur sub.. so then you'll be S.O.L.. the smoke might be because u have the 12v wire touching something or xing over.. or ur **** is just fucked up.. or ur amp is fucked up.. take it to a audio store and they'll check the ohm's of the amp and the power management system on it!! you maybe pushing to much ohms for ur sub... think about it my man!!
ps.. sorry i didnt see that u replyed
and make sure ur using 4 gauge or 1/0 gauge.. of ur pushing enough power to run defcom 6 at washington k?

My vote is for funny. I was laughing myself to tears over the extinguisher joke.

if your amp is cool and the sub is warm, I would definately have someone else look at your setup. Since you said you smelt smoke there could be a number of things wrong. If the amplifier was putting out a dc signal the amp will not get hot and the speaker will burn. If this is the case then both items are screwed. Have a professional look at it.
