Default Have: 93 LS, lots of miles, $2500; Need: built turbo motor :) HELP!

Hey ya'll,
I have been scrapping and saving, and I've got about 2500 bucks to spend. Eventually, I want to have a built turbo motor in my 93 LS 5 speed coupe.

Basically, right now I want to re-sleeve my block, get new pistons and rods, and put in new OEM parts the need replacing so that this motor can take a lickin.

The engine has about 75,000 miles on it now, so what all needs to be replaced while I have the motor out? Bearings, timing belt, headgaskets, what..?

Next, my goal is to run mid to low 12 second quarter miles, with 9.5:1 compression, bigger bore pistons (sleeving the block anyway, might as well go 84.5mm right?), forged connecting rods, and a rebuild of the beaten up stock parts on the motor.

Will I be able to do all this with 2500 bucks?

Please help.

-Mike

might want some better valve springs, when all the things are out might as well change the water pump also... you seem to be on the right track tho . lower the compression a bit more and you can run a bit more boost good luck

slain has all very good ideas the water pump would be a great upgrade for your car i have pics of my p30 water pump next to my ls one on my ls/vtec, the p30 dwarfs it. i say for your cheap turbo set-up you could custom make a turbo for 2500 use a t25 turbo from gst/tsi(100-200) or a ct26 from a mr2, then get piping(200the most) made on to a starion intercooler(200), next get the stock blow off from a 1st gen dsm, next just go to town on the motor turbo style.
