Paint question!
Hey guys, I bought the comptech (read)polyurethane ITR 94-97 lip and have a nice DIY paintjob that needs a touch up after 2 years. My question is this; I need to remove the paint and my cousin has aircraft paint remover(the **** he used for his valve cover) can I use this to strip the paint on the lip without destroying the polyurethane? please help!
why not just give it a light sand job then primer it and paint over that? im not sure if the paint stirpper will ruin the material but my guess would be yes seeing how its not a harder substance
I wouldn't use that stuff it might messup the lip, or do a test spot and see. I would do as said before, sand it down with some 500 grit paper and prime with primer that has a flex addative in it and sand smooth, and paint.

yeah, i used that industrial stuff on my old wheels to "burn" off the clear coat...it actually melted the clear.
for your lip, you might want to just wet sand it, than prime.
