i dont remember what seller sold me mine but any bar is gonna stiffen it up even a little. i think the 25 shipped or whatever they are now are pretty good prices for them and definately worth it. i felt a pretty decent defference with just the front one on my rex. i would even go as far as to suggest them unless your a track ***** and need it to handle perfectly, in which you wouldn't be asking this question.

agreed. you're not gonna find any neuspeed vs. ebaycrap strut bar comparos, and anyone who claims to have driven a car with both and was able to tell the difference is probably full of crap. there's not a whole lot of science to sticking a rod between two points (no jokes, please), so for $25 shipped, you can't go wrong.

unless the ebay crap is so crappy that it would break on you, in which case it'd still be a better deal to get 6 of those for the price of a name brand.

are the ebay ones just as good for the engine bar and the trunk bar?

i was kinda wondering the same thing, it would save some money if they stiffin it up about the same as a high dollar one

I agree with these guys, Anything that stiffens it, will help. ANything, weld a bar in there and it will help. So, yeah i think that I may invest in some of these Ebay bars.

ive heard the neuspeed ones are supposed to be some of the best because of there One piece design and because they dont have any Flex points.

could be. but if its just for a daily driver or someone who takes their car to the strip then its not worth the price. only worth it if the person is a track *****.

Ebay bars just as good? I highly doubt that. I've heard you can bend the DC Sports strut bars by hand, and they're even a somewhat reputable brand. Just save a little more and get a Neuspeed or Suspension Techniques or whatever. I know it's tempting to get a cheap one, but you don't really want to put some crap on your car, right?

for some reason all the ebay/nesupeed/dc etc bars look to damn thin to me... no1 makes a "thick solid" bar for the ef.. just like several options they have for the eg/dc and etc ...

see, this is my point. you've got two people saying they "heard" things, and 1 person saying something "looks" a certain way. unless someone offers something more substantial, make your own judgement.

Actually neuspeed does make a solid four point bar for the front. the rear, well i have a cheap $30 dollar no-name one in the back. frankly i doubt it does much, as i ended up bending the mounting points by hand while mounting it. I'll manufacture one myself or just get jimfab one.
my front neuspeed bar was $50 used and it was a very noticeable change after the install. a front lower and upper bar along with a solid front swaybar is the perfect combo up front. rear swaybar had the most effect in the back.

I have the front upper neuspeed and when i re-install it, sometimes i have to just strain to get the damn thing back on. I have to actually force it a little inward to get it to push out. I dont like having to do that, but to know that the bar is that difficult to get on makes me happy that it is that stiff.

From personal experience i was at a car shop in St. Louis and they had a dc sports bar sitting there on a glass case. I did not have any strut bars at the time and was considering dc sports compared to neuspeed. Put my hand in the middle of the bar pushed downward and the whole bar flexed in. The mounts stay flat on the glass case the entire time. I knew after that dc just sucked!!

I have also the rear upper neuspeed bar, with that installed i noticed a MASSIVE difference. Even more so than the front bar. The rear bar will not flex at all. I cant remember how much i payed for it, i think like almost 300 bucks. IT was a VERY nice additive, but 300 is a lot. You could probably just construct your own and it would be just as strong.

Hope that helps.

First of all I would like to say " "

And now I would like to show you what I have waiting to be put on my car

Look close at the label.. you can see it's clearly labeled for the EF.

"no1 makes a 'thick solid' bar for the ef" - MY ***!!!

That utter piece of junk in the middle is a Tenzo bar. It's so crap that I bent it's mounting bracket while it was installed and in use! I have never been on a track, but I do drive some street corners aggressively. That's the only thing that could have caused the bracket to bend... just street driving. I didn't noticve it was bent until I had to remove it for some engine work. The Tenzo bad DID make a difference and I would recommend ANY bar to people that are looking for a little added chassis stiffening. I went ahead and shelled out the $ for the big fatty name brand bars this time around because I intend to take the car on some road race tracks.

i was gonna suggest Jim's strut bars, but it seems he no longer makes them. i suppose traction bars are the most popular item he has... i should think if he could make a pair for someone if you ask him nicely. i was gonna find some pictures of them but no luck...

one thng to consider. the newspeed bar is the only one that will fot on dpfi (as far as i know). i have one of them e-bay strut bar kits. the front one doesnt fit cause of the dpfi and the rear i didt feel a lick of differance. but thats cause i have autopower rollbar. that was the best chassis stiffening device i have ever bought. i use my rear stb for a tire rack to and from the track/autocross. oh, and i bent it when we stuck a spare single cam and trans in teh back of my car.
i am thinkin of picking up some e-bay lower tiebars. mainly because i had a crack in my subframe that we welded back up. but i dont want to have to drop the tank and realy get in there and fab up some plates if it cracks again. plus, it cant hurt. and my car is a noodle.

one more thing (i am full of those one liner suggestions today!).
if any of you consider getting the cusco front lower tiebar, keep in mind it hangs REAL low, about 1.5"-2" under the rear crossmember, so if your car is low, you might scrape or rip it out on a exceptionally big bump. with my progress springs i think my car is about 2"-2.5" lower (15" 35 offset wheels just barely tuck in) and i have scraped it a few times ( my resonator is lower still and it takes most of the abuse).
i don't know about other types though.

I like the eBay strut bars. They have one purpose, and as long as they are made of good material, its okay in my book.

there is also the theory that stbs in wishbone cars dont do anything because the forces arent directly directed into the shock tower. but there are some forces going there, so it cant hurt.
