Default could this be because of the OBDII ecu?

I have a 96 GSR. I just put a new exhaust on it and shortly after my check engine light came on. I then checked the computer and it came back with the ecu problem code for my VTEC pressure valve. My question is could this be because of the OBDII computer? my friend said that is why my check engine light came on. Any help is appreciated.

Because you installed an exhaust? I highly doubt it.

reset your computer for about 10 minutes (pull the neg cable off battery or pull fuse for ecu). It could also be you O2 sensor. If you gutted the cat or put high flow cat on that's your problem. Reset your ecu and see if that helps.
