Default idle fluctuation ?

I was driving home last night for about 20 miles.....when i was parking my car, i noticed that the idle was fluctuating up to 1500 rpms back down to 750 rpms, and then my car just died. It was able to start back up again, drove it this morning to school another 20 miles and it did it for a little bit again at a stop light, but when i started to drive again...it went away..any ideas what this is? checked all fluid levels, everything checked out fine. thanks for any input

Sounds like the selling dealer did not perform the idle learning procedure,
Take the negative terminal off for @2-3 minutes and then when you start the vehicle let it idle by itself with nothing on. No A/C no radio nothing at all.
for at least five minutes. If that doesn't do it call the dealer and set an appt...

make sure your steering wheel is straight. if it's turned at all during the learning process your rpms fluctuate.

have u done anything to the ignition? new plugs etc? i know some guys have had their stock coil packs go bad but that's usually with forced induction.

check for loose vacuum lines / pipe connections around the intake manifold, airbox, and idle control valve

sticky throttle plate or cable could cause that also, but you'd notice it more than once

changed the air filter yet?

I've checked all the vaccumm lines and changed the air filter. Where is the idle air control valve located? the idle fluctuation is intermittent and the cel does come on and off..

Take it to the dealer as your car should still be under warranty.

Take it to your dealer. They should fix it under warranty. The day I bought mine I threw a check engine light and than my car started to idle at 1500. I can't remember which wires they had to replace, but they were able to fix it.

My best guess is that you have a failing VTC control solenoid.
