Default Advice on tip-in leanness and roaming idle

Hello all,

I'm trying to straighten out the final few problems on my 98 GSR with DPR stage VI head, Toda B-specs, RC 270 injectors, AEM FPR, Field SFC/VTEC controller, Yoshio chip, stock fuel pump, new fuel filter. I think part of the problem may be that I have to have -21% at 1k on the SFC to get it to only stall occasionally.

The idle almost always moves around in a 500rpm range somewhere below 2k. The car seems to sometimes get into a stalling mode where after pushing in the clutch the idle just drops down to zero. It always starts back up, though.

As far as driveablity,It almost seems like something is slow to react when I hit the gas... at tip in, the a/f always goes lean off the chart for a couple seconds before going up to rich. I don't think it's rpm dependant or just the guage because around town I can feel that there's really no acceleration at slight tip in, followed by a small
surge oncce the a/f ratio gets back to normal.

Any ideas what could cause this? TPS calibration or O2 sensor came to
mind but then again I don't really know anything.

Thanks for your help!

Its probablly running real rich, do you have a af meter? I'm sure its flooding out. Look at your plugs I'm sure they are dark.

ON my car I have it leaned around 18-20%.

Here's a pic of the plugs I took out last week. I think they actually look ok... maybe a little rich. http://albums.photopoint.com/j/ViewP...p=54234606&f=0

I do have an a/f meter an it looks like most of the hesitation and stalling comes when it goes full lean.

I dropped the fuel pressure to 40 psi (from around 50) and it didn't make a difference. Here's my last dyno and you can see my a/f is all over the place. I since richened it at 2k (to ~ +10) and leaned it around 5k (to ~ +10). I had to leave 1k at -21% in order for it to idle. I'm afraid to lean it out much more since I have ~11.5:1 compression and fear detonation, looking at my a/f plot.
