d15a2 needs more power
i have a 4wd civic "offroad beast" but as of now it has a puny carbed d15a2. until i have a few hundred to throw in a dohc zc or d16a1, how can i get more power from the d15 for very little money?
and since i am a "trial user" on the forum i cannot post more than 5 times in 24 hours yet so i will put another question on here: where can i find/ what kind of clutch should i get when i replace the tired stock one?

That's a tall order considering his engine is carb'd, not DPFI.
Not cheap and not easy.
He would have to upgrade his entire fuel system, tank forward to handle the 30+ psi fuel pressure when the stock was only designed for roughly 5 psi.
Then installing ALL the ECM components formerly controlled by the hydra-like vacuum box...this will involve several hours of labor(mostly wiring-bleah) and sourcing parts, preferably from a parts car.

I agree. You would really have to love the car to do that kind of work. It would be much easier and probably cheaper in the long run to just get a FI car. I've never owned a pre 88 carbed Honda so I wouldn't have the slightest idea on what you could do in the quest for more power. I have came across aftermarket carbs and things while searching for parts before though.
I have a 90 Civic 4wd Wagon which came with the D16A6, already MPFI which made it a lot easier to install a new motor. I bought it with a bad engine and installed a D16Y7 from a 00 Civic DX. It took some work, had to make the original A6 oil pan fit the new Y7. It's designed different because of the 4wd tranny. I simply reused all the OBD0 components and now it's a solid running car again.

i am trying the cheapest and least time consuming mods and swaps. like b16acrxer said in a previous forum post, it is my daily driver and i dont have another car. i am talking mods that could be done by 2 or 3 people in a weekend.
i like the carbed zc swap because it kept it simple. my only problem is locating the engine.
what cars could i look for at a junk yard that would have an engine that will bolt into the chassis and up to the 4wd tranny?
the car does pretty well with the 76 stock hp, but it tops out at 82 downhill with a tailwind and i occassionally have to downshift to make it up a hill. it kicked *** in the mud, but imagine where it could go with twice the hp. 140 is not a big demand, even for a carbed engine.
