stroked b16
ok, so i hear that toda makes a stoker kit for the b16b (CTR) becuase it is actually a itr motor with shorter rods, displacing it some where around 1600cc, so is this true to the whole b16 family? like can i put type r pistons and rods in my b16a (1st gen) to raise the displacment? just a small tech question to all the H-T members that really know there ****. thx all
the b16 has a shorter deck height, smaller stroke compared to the gsr(77.4mm-87.2mm) and shorter rods...most companies use a 89mm stroke..stock sized aftermarket rods and custom pistons that move the wrist pin up 6mm to obtain a decent rod ratio of 1.5...you could also do it the cheap way..use an LS crank, eagle b16a rods and whatever aftermarket pistons you choose but w/ a 24mm compressoin height...just have the whole assembly balanced...
ive never had a b16b but ive heard rumors that it is basically a de-stroked b18c..which would make it have longer rods and a 1.8 something rod ratio..same stroke as a b16a though..
