Second axle change car still shudders and vibrates!!
So, I thought I mightve got a bad autozone axle yesterday ..Went back got another one. Its sitll horrible. When I give it gas the car feels like someone is jack hammering my front drivers side, Or kinda like driving on square tires if that makes sense. Im so confused on why its still doing this ?? Any help please.
Are you getting the right axles for your setup ? How new is your intermediate shaft ? Also when did you start having this problem ?
Yeah Im pretty sure. Im using 90 93 Integ axles with a 90 93 inter. shaft so I think. Started as soon as I took the 1st pair out, then got some autozones. Went and got another pair and samething is still going on .
Its not that kind of feeling and why would that happen as soon as I change the axles ?? That wouldnt make much sense i dont think

you could have affected alignment, but make certain your hub bearings are not on the way out. did you remove the dust seal on the hub, your axels could be binding because of that too.

If the problems started when you swapped the axles... Go to another Autozone. Make sure to get some from a differant mfg'ing "lot".
Just because it's "new".. or in this case re-mfg'd doesn't mean it's good.
Get a set from a different date /plant of re-mfg if possible.

I have the exact same problem. I replaced an old axle with an autozone axle and it is popping and making sounds already. I think it is probably a problem with the axle. Does anybody else have experience with this?
I'm having the same prob too, I was told by a shop that its my front mount, cuz the mount is ripped. Ima fix the mount and see if the vibrations go away.
Does it feel like its shuddering almost? Mine feels like its like shaking like crazy on the drivers side. Pass. side is to short....

This sounds like it could be the wheel bearing. Try jacking up the car and moving the tire back and forth;check for excessive play. If so then there's your problem. Take off the hub and have a new bearing pressed in. If thats good then try the mounts to see if any are loose.
I replaced the axle because the boot was torn. The car is exhibiting new symptoms that it never did before the axle change which makes me believe that the problem is in the axle.
Same with me ..I replaced them just for the fact they were worn and one was poping during a turn ..So as soon as i changed them this started to happen , not sure if they guy who i got the car from used a jdm inter shaft though?? I took it off the old b18 he had in there to use on my new setup and i just figured it would be a 90 to 93 inter shft could someone measure one for me ? If its not that then im gonna check the wheel bearing then other than that i couldnt figure anything else than an axle being the problem . Thanks
I dont think I have a wheel bearing issue. Mine were fine b4 I did that swap. Whats intresting is that we are both having the same issue with the drivers side being too long....

Another thing is it does it in straight lines whenever I decide to give it gas it makes it 10x's worse. Feels like im running over tiny consistent speed bumps whenever I accelerate. If that helps anyone else
EDIT: If someone could measure their jdm inter. shaft Id be highly appreciated thanks!

Swap the axles with some from another mfg'ing lot. I'd also suggest contacting someone such as Hasport to verify what axles will fit.
I may have overlooked it...
But Hasport used to have info on their website about "axles" (How to make your own axles) .
Anyone have an archived copy of the info they could post? It seems Hasport pulled the info, and now only "sells" pre-made axles. If that is the case they may not tell you what axles components to use to make Frankenstein axles.

wheel bearing, ball joint, tie rod, alignment, unbalanced tire, it could be any or all of these . I would start with the cheapest
No
Ok heres what Im narrowing it down to ...The ball joints are fine, ties rods, mounts, wheel bearings are all good .
Im thinking somehow I have the wrong intermeadate shaft from the previous owner and me not knowing which one it is so I assumed it was a 90-93 sence he had a B18b in it before ??? Thats all I can think of. Ive jacked the car up checked for bad wheel bearings , Spun the tire as fast as I can and hear nothing.
Could anyone get me the measure meants for the 90 - 93 integ shaft so i could go measure mine and check ? Thanks
for all the help
