ef8, ef9, bla blah whats the diff...
If you had your car imported from Japan and it was a Sir HB then it would be a EF9 but you didn't. So your car is just a ED6(USDM Si HB).
EF6 ( CRX ) - SOHC 1.5L
EF7 ( CRX ) - DOHC 1.6L NON VTEC
EF8 ( CRX ) - DOHC 1.6L VTEC
EF3 ( CIVIC HATCH ) - DOHC 1.6L NON VTEC
EF9 ( CIVIC HATCH ) - DOHC 1.6L VTEC
EF2 ( CIVIC SEDAN ) - SOHC 1.5L
Have Fun.
EF7 ( CRX ) - DOHC 1.6L NON VTEC
EF8 ( CRX ) - DOHC 1.6L VTEC
EF3 ( CIVIC HATCH ) - DOHC 1.6L NON VTEC
EF9 ( CIVIC HATCH ) - DOHC 1.6L VTEC
EF2 ( CIVIC SEDAN ) - SOHC 1.5L
Have Fun.

I thought "EF's" were only from Japan (imported) and our USDM's are ED's. I was told to look at your VIN # and number 4-6 is what you would refer your car to being. Like mines is a ED6. People refer to their cars as EF's when they put something JDM on it or whatever.
I can't believe that nobody has posted the right chassis code yet.
NORTH AMERICAN chassis codes:
Civic 3dr 1.5L (DX, STD) - ED6
Civic 3dr 1.6L (Si) - ED7
CRX 1.5L (DX, HF) - ED8
CRX 1.6L (Si) - ED9
SIhatch90, you have an ED7!
Check your VINs people!!!

Thank you Targa250R, I knew the CRX Si was an ED9 and not ED7, you just helped to show me that I wasn't the only one.

And to expand on that:
Civic 4dr 1.5L (DX, LX) - ED3
Civic 4dr 1.6L (EX) - ED4

Civic 3dr 1.6L (Si) - ED7

CRX 1.6L (Si) - ED9
Civic 5dr 1.5L (2WD) - EE2
Civic 5dr 1.6L (4WD) - EE4
Those are all of the 4th-generation Civics sold in North America.
Why do we even use chassis codes? They just confuse everyone. What's wrong with "G4 Si" instead of "ED7?"
