a6 with y8 HG
The headgasket has gone on my 90dx beater so I'm throwing my old a6 head on it along with the mpfi conversion. I've read from a few threads on here about using the y8 HG to up the comp a bit but nobody ever gave a direct number.
So what would the CR be with a b2 block and a6 head with an a6 HG vs using a y8 HG? And I've also read that some of the holes on the y8 HG arent as big as the ones on the a6 one and the guy used a dremel to even them up, is this neccesary or will it be fine without it being done?
Thanks.

Well, with the comp calc, and using the b7 block instead of b2, which should be the same, the compression comes out to 9.4:1 with a 3 layer metal y8 headgasket. The 2 layer y8 one comes out to 9.67:1.
thats using the a6 head on a d15 block. Hope this helps.

Ah very cool, I've got the link for the comp calc but have never messed with it.
And I didnt know there were 2 different gaskets either, sweet, thank you very much.
Edit : Oh wow, I just went back to the calc I have and its quite different than back in the day..either that or I was looking at a different calc because the one I have now is simple, got the same #'s you did, lazy me.
