Speedometer acting up...what's wrong?
Usually when it's cold, a lot of times when i'm stoped and begin to roll the speedo just sticks at 0 then once I begin to roll after a bit, it jumps up. Or if I smack the dash, it unsticks and jumps to the right MPH. What could be wrong/loose?
I have the same problem, except I don't need to smack the dash. My speedo doesn't kick in until maybe 10-20 MPH. It doesn't bother me, but it could be the VSS. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
it could be the vss (speed sensor) but those are hard to break. the reason why i say that is because i tried to mess mine up to get out of a speeding ticket. i took out washers, chunks out of the magnet, the spring i took out of it and it still worked fine so i dont know
My buddy has had the same trouble for about a year now.
When it's cold out side it will stay at zero till the car warms up pretty well. But then after an even longer period of driving, per say another hour it quits working.
He has replaced the speed sensor and the gauge cluster and nothing has worked to perfection.
